Program Specialist

Angie Barfield is a Program Specialist for the Student Intervention and Prevention Department for the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools. Angie has worked closely with students of color in the county to encourage academic excellence and has a 100% high school graduation rate amongst students under her guidance, all have gone on to higher education institutions. Mrs. Barfield has worked with school districts within the county focusing on equity, attendance, academic and social emotional support systems for students of color and has been successful in implementing programs and system changes that empower Administrators, Faculty, Staff and students. She was recently recognized as a Top Ten Professional Woman by the Marjaree Mason Center of Fresno in 2017 for her work in the community with students and families. She is the Coordinator of the Fresno County African American Student Leadership Conference that hosts over 1000 students, and is the sitting President of the Black Students of California United, a non-profit youth leadership organization that cultivates culturally conscious and future leaders throughout the State of California. Angie is married to Gregory and between them they have 7 amazing adult children. She is living her purpose on purpose and believes that finding our center leads to excellence.
